Canti Suminati

acrylic on paper.

A 2D exercise where we had to make an animation on music. The animation is based on changes or accents in the music.
The story isn't finished, but first of all, it was an excercise to animate on music and second, it was a personal exercise for this specific technique.

The first part, I animated blind. With that I mean that there wasn't any camera+mac available to check what I was doing. So I took pictures with my photocamera, without seeing what I was actually doing. That explains why it moves so mutch...

Though I'm still pretty satisfied with the result, especially with the tentacles in the end, and had loads of fun making it!

Golfing

pencil on paper and a TV paint tree.

a 2D exercise where the focus lies within the acting of the characters and how they interact with each other.

I first animated te little one and struggled a bit.
The tall one went better. I had more fun animating him.

"Neeee ik ben helemaal niet bang, ik heb gewoon angst"
"Noooo I'm not afraid at aaaalllll, I'm just scared",
is what my little man is saying. I made him in clay but it's in 2 dimensions in stead of 3...
I had lots of fun making this one!!

fun with red cherry tea lights part two

I just helped the image a little bit with my blue lines...

Het meisje met kanker.

The girl with cancer from Silke Rombaut on Vimeo.

For a schoolassignment, we had to make our own version of 'Het meisje met de zwavelstokjes'. There had to be a storyboard and an animatic. I'm not really sattisfied with the result of my animatic, but I do think that the story easy to understand.
